Antequera (Málaga) hosts the paddle tennis team of the Universitat de València on the occasion of the Paddle Tennis University Spanish Championship, between the 3 and 6 May.

The team coached by Jorge Bellmont goes to the appointment with two couples, the men’s couple formed by Javier Santonja and Emilio Plantada and the women’s couple formed by Elena Molina and Paula Pastor.

In the group stage, the boys have to face the couples of the University of Lleida on Wednesday at 10:00 h., the University of Burgos at 16:15 h., the Valencia Catholic University on Thursday at 09:35 h. From there, they will classify for the medals.

By its part, the women’s team is in the group of the University of Vic. They face this university on Wednesday at 17:30 and the University of Cordoba, whose game takes place on Thursday at 12:15 h.

The team “knows how difficult it is to get a medal in a Championship of such level, but we can’t deny that this year we go with a great preparation thanks to the trainings we make every week and the illusion that both the women’s and the men’s couple have to go as far as possible is really high”, says the coach, Jorge Bellmont.

On the expectations of the Universitat de València in the Championship, Bellmont adds that “as always I say to my players that I don’t want the objective is to win, but competing at their highest level and that is the other couple that has to reach their 110% percent to show that they have been better.”
