We know that the priorities at the moment, given the catastrophic situation in the province of Valencia, are focused on personal well-being and the support of infrastructures and basic needs of families. However, those affected also face the pain of losing their memories. For this reason, and in an altruistic way, the UV is launching a campaign to recover the family photographs damaged by the recent DANA.

The Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society, in collaboration with the Laboratory of Analysis and Diagnosis of Works of Art (Dept. of History of Art) of the Universitat de València, proposes a campaign to collect photographs and family albums affected by the floods of the DANA. This irreplaceable legacy will be treated and intervened in order to restore it to a good state of conservation that favours its safeguarding and perpetuation over time.

For this reason, as far as possible, families are asked not to dispose of these photographs and albums, even if they are in a high degree of deterioration. It is important that they are kept and that the citizens affected contact the Heritage Department of the Universitat de València via the email address or telephone number below. They will be picked-up and will be worked on their recovery.
