OBJECTIVE: HISTORY. Photographic exhibition by Pilar Albelda Valls

Through the lens of Pilar Albelda Valls' camera, the exhibition 'Objective: History' brings us closer to a social, touristic, and economic phenomenon of enormous popularity in recent years: Historical Recreation.

As part of the so-called 'Public History,' a historiographical trend that studies and collaborates in public and collective manifestations of approaching the past external to the academy, Historical Recreation can be defined as a way to commemorate, celebrate, or simply remember socially and publicly, through a playful or festive event, but planned and executed with rigor, a past event or a specific era, awakening sensations and emotions in the current public with a clear objective of disseminating history.

From the Greek hoplite to the young woman of the early 20th century, Pilar Albelda Valls' photographs allow us to traverse more than 2,500 years of history recreated in the last 13 years in different European locations.
