The creation of DoCiència in 2015 came from a group of young doctorates from the Faculty of Biological Sciences of the Universitat de València who wanted to bring research and the latest scientific advances in the field of Biology to secondary school teachers.

From 2015 to 2020 DoCiència has been adding collaborating members inside and outside the Faculty, to all of them we want to thank you.

We, the people who are and make DoCiència, strongly believe in scientific knowledge as an essential element for the functioning of modern societies, and in science education as one of the most important educational challenges. With the development of activities of communication, dissemination and promotion of research and innovation, we intend that teachers have the appropriate and updated knowledge and skills for this scientific literacy, while trying to transmit the passion for science to their students. DoCiència was created to respond to a double concern: that of teachers who want to maintain contact with the University, and that of researchers who try to bring science closer to society through the work that teachers do in the classroom.

We have tried to help to make known the latest techniques used in the field of research, and to offer teachers an update on various topics such as neuroscience, cancer, virology, immunology, biotechnology or assisted reproduction. We have also elaborated proposals for bench and computer practices. All the materials generated are at your disposal.
