  1. A doctoral thesis may be submitted to the Universitat de València as a compendium of publications, provided that the following requirements are taken into account, except in exceptional cases authorised by the Doctoral School.
    • The doctoral candidate must present a minimum of three articles, already published or accepted in journals indexed in an international index such as JCR (WoS) and/or SJR (Scopus) in the case of Social Sciences, and must be the first signatory of all the work presented. Otherwise, unless in the field of knowledge of the thesis a specific agreement is used to organise the signature of the articles, it is necessary to justify the place of signature. If the above requirements cannot be met, each academic coordination committee of the corresponding doctoral programme will determine, in each case, the impact factor that the publications must have on the bibliographic indexes
    • The thesis must include an overall summary of the subject matter, main results and conclusions, justifying the author's original contribution, written in any of the official languages, with a minimum of 4000 words.
    • A complete copy of the work published or accepted for publication must be included as an annex, clearly stating the name and affiliation of all the co-authors of the work and the full reference of the journal in which the work has been published or accepted for publication. In this latter case, a justification of admission and the full reference of the journal in which they have been submitted must be attached
    • Any additional requirements that may be established for this purpose by the Doctoral School.
  2. To submit the deposit application, in addition to the documents specified in the previous section, the following documents must also be submitted:
    • A written statement by the director of the thesis on the impact factor, or categorisation of the journal, of the publications included in the doctoral thesis.
    • If one or more co-authored works are presented, a report from the thesis directors must be provided, specifying exhaustively the participation of the doctoral candidate in each article, whether any of the co-authors of any of the works presented in the doctoral thesis have used, implicitly or explicitly, these works for the preparation of another doctoral thesis and, if this is the case, the circumstances justifying the fact that the doctoral candidate is not the first signatory of any of the works. (Article 8 of the Regulations on the submission, assessment and defence of doctoral theses).

Regulation on deposit, evaluation and defense of the doctoral thesis (Modified CG 28-VI-2016, take effect 29-VI-2016. Modified CG 31-X-2017)
