ETHICS COMMITTEE DOCUMENTATION

If the research topic of the doctoral thesis is related to human research, animal experimentation or biosafety (even if it is only the use of medical records, biological samples of human origin, biological agents...), in order to develop it, it is necessary to send (dfisiologia@uv.es) the favourable report for the thesis from the ETHICS COMMITTEE of the Centre where the research is carried out (for the Universitat de València, regulations and forms https://www.uv.es/uvetica/), or of the General Directorate of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Valencian Government (DG.AGP.GVA) in the case of animal experimentation.

• The title of the report must match the title of the thesis. If this is not the case, but the report CLEARLY covers all the research and the contents of the doctoral thesis, you must also attach the document “Concordancia título tesis_Comite de Etica” or “Concordancia tesis_procedimiento exp. animal DG.AGP.GVA”, as the case may be. If not, inform the Ethics Committee and submit the Committee's assessment.
• The report must not be older than 6 years.
• The regulations require a favourable report to be submitted at the end of the first year of studies at the latest.

IN THE CASE OF HAVING A FAVOURABLE REPORT FROM THE ETHICS COMMITTEE WHOSE TITLE DOES NOT COINCIDE WITH THAT OF THE THESIS:

• FOR HUMAN RESEARCH AND BIOSAFETY PROCEDURES:

  Depending on the difference in the title, it is necessary to request and send (dfisiologia@uv.es) a favourable report with the new title or a ratification from the Ethics Committee that the favourable report is adequate for the thesis with the current title or, if the difference is minimal, the attached document "Concordancia título tesis Comité de Ética" signed by the thesis supervisors.

  • Bear in mind that, if during the development of the thesis any modification is made to the title of the thesis, it will be necessary to send (dfisiologia@uv.es) a new ratification from the Ethics Committee that its favourable report is appropriate for the thesis with the new title or, if the modification of the title is simple, the document "Concordancia título tesis Comité de Ética" signed by the thesis supervisors.

• FOR ANIMAL TESTING PROCEDURES:
  
  In case only the procedure presented is required for the development of the thesis, the student must send (dfisiologia@uv.es) the document "Concordancia tesis procedimiento exp. animal DG.AGP.GVA" signed by the supervisors and, if any other procedure is used that requires a favourable report from an Ethics Committee, it must be requested and sent.
   
  • Bear in mind that, if during the development of the thesis any modification is made to the title of the thesis, it will be necessary to resubmit the document "Concordancia tesis procedimiento exp. animal DG.AGP.GVA" for the thesis with the new title or to submit the necessary approved procedures.

FOR PROCEDURES THAT DO NOT REQUIRE AN ETHICS COMMITTEE REPORT:

Send (dfisiologia@uv.es) the document "Informe_Sin requerimiento de Comité Ética", signed by the thesis supervisors.
