Pre-registration applications are available to those who meet the general and specific admission requirements for each Doctoral Program within the indicated deadlines.
Applications can be submitted through the following link Application form, starting May 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. (Spanish time). Access requires credentials. If you have never been enrolled at UV and do not have an account (username and password), you can obtain them here (Read the Tutorial).
Each interested party may submit only one application and may choose up to three options from among the different Doctoral Programs.
Students who complete the studies leading to a doctoral degree during the current academic year may pre-register, even if they have not completed these studies at the time of submitting their application. They may be admitted and formalize their enrollment. In any case, this registration will be conditional on meeting all entry requirements by 11:59 p.m. (Spanish time) on November 30, 2025. Failure to meet these requirements will result in the automatic cancellation of the registration.
Documents must be submitted in digital format, in the pre-registration application. The student is responsible of authenticity of the provided documents.
Original copies are not requested, except in the case that there are doubts about their authenticity.
In this case, the University will ask to the student the presentation of evidence by the comparison of the copies or, if it is opportune, the original documents.
The documents which must be attached in the application are:
a) Photocopy of the ID (Spanish citizens), NIE (residents in Spain) or Passport (foreign citizens) all of them valid. If the previous official higher studies have been carried out at the Universitat de València, it will not be necessary to provide this documentation.
b) Official University Degree (as the case may be)
- Degree and master’s degree certificates (Article 6.1 Royal Decree 576/2023).
- Licenciado qualification (former Spanish undergraduate degree) (Governing Council agreement 24/06/2014).
- Diploma de Estudios Avanzados (Tertiary Education Diploma) obtained according to the provisions of the Royal Decree 77/1998, 30 April, or to have reached the research proficiency regulated by the Royal Decree 185/1985, 23 January.
- Certificate of a Positive Assessment in 2 courses for specialised healthcare training.
- Former Doctoral certificates according to former regulations (Former Doctoral programme certification).
If the admission is by means of an official master's degree, the master's degree and the degree of the previous official university studies must be provided.
If the degrees are obtained at universities in states that are neither European Union members nor signatories to the European Economic Agreement or a bilateral agreement with the European Union, the degree must be duly legalised or apostilled and, as the case may be, accompanied by an official translation (see admission requirements for foreign graduates).
In addition, in the case of official degrees obtained at universities in states outside the European Higher Education Area, it will be necessary to present the degree's homologation credential from the Spanish Ministry of Education. If the degree has not been homologated, the applicant will have to pay, at the time of pre-enrolment, the corresponding fee for the equivalence study of his/her degree. The study of the equivalence of degrees is subject to an administrative fee payable at the time of electronic pre-registration for the doctorate. (See the annual Decree of the Government of the Generalitat Valenciana which sets the fees for the provision of university academic services). If the pre-enrolment for the doctorate has already been made in previous years and the corresponding equivalence decision has been obtained, the fee will be waived.
c) Official Academic Certificates. Certificates corresponding to the master's degree and to the previous official studies (Bachelor's degree, etc.).
Foreign students must submit the official transcript or records legalised or apostilled and, if it is the case, with the official translation. Besides, they must submit the document with the average grade calculated according the procedure established by the Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional.
More information about the procedure here.
If the student provides the official university dregree but not the academic certificate with averagre grade and its conversion, or the grades are not legalized, the average grade which will be taken into account is a 5 (pass) in a scale from 0 to 10.
d) If the Master's degree is from outside the EHEA, a certificate issued by the university of origin indicating that these studies give access to a doctorate in that country (Model certificate). However, for countries within the EHEA, a certificate issued by the university of origin may be required when there is reasonable doubt as to its veracity.

Once the deadline for submitting the pre-registration application forms have finished, the Academic Phd Committee (Cad) of each Phd’s will evaluate the application forms according to the entry criteria of each Phd’s.
The places offered will be allocated according to the result of the evaluation of the pre-registration application form and of the priority order indicated by the student in the application form.
If the interested part has applied for more than one doctoral programme, the prioritisation of options made at the time of application is binding. Thus, if the applicant has been favourably rated in more than one programme, admission will be to the one he or she has selected as preferential.
The award results will be communicated to students electronically.
Each student may only be admitted to one PhD program and may be placed on the waiting list for multiple programs to which they have applied with higher priority.
