The History of Art doctorate (UVEG-UJI) has received from the Ministry of Education the Honorable Mention for Excellence. The Mention issued by the Ministry through the Universities' Secretary of State, which has dismissed a 40% of applications that passed the The National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation of Spain's cutoff mark, has awarded those doctorate programmes which stand out for their prestige and international scope. The UV is the first of Valencian Universities in received Honorable Mentions for Excellence; to be precise, 18 doctorates. The awarding is in force since 2011-2012 Course until 2013-2014.

The Department of History of Art of the UV had a Doctoratal Degree which had received a Honorable Mention of Quality and has just received the Honorable Mention for Excellence from the Ministry of Education, becoming one of the few doctoral degrees in the field of History of Art in Spain to have achieved the goal.
