The I Jornada Gènere i visualitat, Alliances between Theology and Art History in a feminist key, is planned as a meeting space between art historians and theologian Dr. Carmen Bernabé Ubieta, professor at the University of Deusto. It is a meeting conceived in three totally interrelated parts.

First, a conference given by the guest speaker on the work carried out from the field of feminist theology, its approaches and rereadings of biblical texts in relation to Christian women, eliminating traditional misogynist and patriarchal exegesis. On this occasion, the figure of Mary Magdalene is taken as a reference. This connects perfectly with the second part of the day, which introduces the presentation of the book Marías. Between adoration and stigma, where the authors, from the field of Art History, carry out various analyzes from a feminist perspective on the models of femininity perpetuated in artistic visuality and the cultural stereotypes of women that derive from them. Finally, a dialogue is proposed between the guest speaker, the authors of the book and the public, to discuss the alliances between Theology and the History of Art in a feminist key to contribute to the fight for equality.

The day is designed for the entire university community, as well as for the general public, being aware of the need for the importance of scientific dissemination and that it does not remain enclosed within the walls of the universities.
