Professor Abby Kavner, visiting Professor at ICMUV, gave us the conference entitled Oxidation and Carbonation of Transition Metals at High Temperature and Pressure (1st March 2018, 9:30h, Seminario Semisótano).

Abby Kavner works at the Department of Earth, Planetary and Space Sciences at the University of California Los Angeles.

In her talk, she highlighted the important role played by the boundary between the liquid core of the Earth and the oxidized mantle for determining the thermal and chemical evolution of our planet.

As usual, after the talk there was coffee and biscuits, a relaxed time in which Abby Kavner satisfied our curiosity answering our questions about the internal structure of the planets.
