Una vez concluida la catalogación del fondo Lecha-Marzo y visto el interés científico de muchos de los materiales dados, la Biblioteca Historicomédica "Vicent Peset Llorca" y el Instituto de Historia de la Medicina y de la Ciencia López Piñero han organizado una exposición con algunos de los documentos más relevantes que permanecerá abierta hasta el 10 de abril.
1. Todos los libros, manuscritos, fotografías y objetos expuestos proceden de la Biblioteca y de la colección cientificomédica del Museo del Instituto “López Piñero”. La exposición ha sido coordinada por Mabel Fuentes.
2. Ha sido recientemente incorporada en la Biblioteca una nueva donación particular. Se trata de la biblioteca profesional del ginecólogo Francisco Alcalá Llorente, una colección de más de 400 monografías que refuerza el fondo de la biblioteca dedicada a esta especialidad médica. La donación tiene un apartado importante de oncología ginecológica y obstétrica. Junto con el fondo bibliográfico, el doctor Alcalá dio instrumental en magnífico estado de conservación y varios maniquíes de ginecología que, sin duda, suponen una importante adquisición para el Museo de Historia de la Medicina y de la Ciencia.
La donación está completamente añadida en el catálogo Trobes y puede recuperarse entera buscando por firma, HMED Alcala Garces.
3. La Biblioteca participa con el préstamo de monografías de su fondo en la exposición "Frankenstein o el moderno Prometed" que se exhibe a Palau Cerveró del 22 de noviembre al 23 de febrero. También esta colaborando en la preparación de otra exposición "Epistemologías de la prevención" que se tiene que inaugurar el próximo mes de marzo.
4. En los últimos cuatro meses han entrado a la Biblioteca una septuagésima de libros por compra y donación. En la actualidad el fondo bibliográfico supera los 44.000 volúmenes y el millar de títulos de revista.
