Launch of JURE DocMornings UV, a student-led initiative designed to empower early-career researchers by fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive community beyond the formal boundaries of the doctoral curriculum.
The Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy is pleased to announce the launch of JURE DocMornings UV, a student-led initiative designed to empower early-career researchers by fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive community beyond the formal boundaries of the doctoral curriculum.
This initiative is made possible thanks to the JURE Research Developmental Fund (2025) from EARLI (European Association for Research on Learning and Instruction). The scheme supports junior researchers by providing funding for activities and resources that help develop research opportunities within the JURE community. In this occasion, the funding was granted to Lidia Altamura, a PhD student that belongs to ERI-Lectura research team in the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy.
Drawing inspiration from similar doctoral communities at institutions such as the University of Oslo and the University of Pennsylvania, JURE DocMornings UV offers a dynamic program of both informal and structured activities that promote academic growth, collaboration, and peer support.
Throughout the 2025–2026 academic year, JURE DocMornings UV will organize monthly morning events, each one carefully designed to provide meaningful opportunities for learning and networking — and breakfast will be provided.
The program will feature three main formats:
- Peer Exchange: A relaxed space for doctoral students to share ideas, experiences, and insights.
- Learning from Peers: Sessions led by advanced PhD candidates or recent postdoctoral researchers, sharing strategies and lessons learned.
- Invited Workshops: Expert-led sessions on essential topics such as thesis writing, publishing, academic well-being, and navigating interdisciplinary research environments.
JURE DocMornings UV is open to PhD students and postdoctoral researchers working in education, learning, and instruction-related fields within the Faculty of Psychology and Speech Therapy. Master’s students may also be invited to selected special events.
To ensure accessibility for international participants, all sessions will be held in English and are open to JURE members as well as invited researchers from partner universities.
