Researchers from the NANOSENS group at the Institute for Molecular Recognition and Technological Development are participating in the PROBIOAGE project, a public–private collaboration initiative focused on developing a platform to identify probiotics with anti‑aging potential.
The project aims to study the biological processes associated with aging through the development of fluorogenic molecular probes capable of detecting senescent cells. These tools will make it possible to analyze the accumulation of senescent cells in different biological models and assess the effect of probiotics and bioactive compounds on cellular senescence.
PROBIOAGE is being carried out in collaboration with Biopolis (ADM) and the Institute of Biotechnology and Biomedicine. The participation of the Universitat Politècnica de València is funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation and the Spanish State Research Agency, within the Public‑Private Collaboration Projects call, financed by the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan – NextGenerationEU.
