More than 50% of the fish we consume already comes from aquaculture, a sector where science and sustainability come together to feed the world without depleting marine resources.
Today we celebrate World Science Day, highlighting that the Signal and Measurement in Chemistry (SyM) research group from the Institute for Molecular Recognition and Technological Development (IDM) at the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) actively contributes, within the national ThinkInAzul project, to the development of innovative biosensors for the rapid and reliable detection of parasites in high-value aquaculture species.
This work reflects the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration and knowledge transfer from research to the productive sector, promoting a safer, more efficient and sustainable aquaculture.
Applied science not only drives technological innovation but also brings real solutions closer to society.
