Plot: Accused of misappropriation, widower Henry Scarlett decides to scape from France to Great Britain accompanied with his daughter Sylvia who, trying not to be noticed while helping his father with contraband, dresses up and assumes the identity of a man, ‘Sylvester’. In the boat they take to run away, they meet Jimmy Mokley with whom, after an argument, they decide to associate to earn easy money in London with swindly and fraud.
