On 10 and 11 June 2026, the twelfth edition of the International Conference La Renovación Docente en la Enseñanza Superior (ReDoES12) will take place both at the Salón de Grados of the Facultat de Filologia, Traducció i Comunicació and online via Zoom. The conference has become a well-established meeting point for lecturers, researchers and students committed to improving higher education teaching and learning.

At a time of profound transformation in higher education, the conference stands at the intersection of teaching practice, active methodologies and technology, with particular attention to the growing role of artificial intelligence in teaching and learning processes. The aim is not merely to incorporate new tools, but to rethink how learning is designed in contexts where knowledge itself, as well as its access and production, are rapidly changing.

The contributions presented in this edition address real classroom experiences across different disciplines, ranging from the Humanities to the Sciences, and explore how AI can be integrated in critical, ethical and pedagogically meaningful ways. Topics include oral and written production in foreign languages, project-based learning, the use of conversational assistants, innovation in biotechnology, knowledge transfer, and new relationships between teaching and research.

The conference focuses on the design of learning experiences that actively engage students through content creation, collaborative work, metacognitive reflection and the development of digital competences. In this context, AI is not conceived as a substitute for teaching, but rather as a tool that expands possibilities while also requiring us to rethink assessment systems.

ReDoES is part of the Proyectos de Innovación de Centros (PIC) programme within the annual SFPIE call. Its approach is informed by the experience gained through several teaching innovation initiatives developed at the Universitat de València over recent years, including the SLATES project, which for more than a decade has promoted active methodologies and experimentation with new ways of teaching and learning.

More than a space for showcasing results, the conference aims to foster the sharing of experiences, the exchange of perspectives and the collective construction of knowledge about university teaching in a constantly evolving educational landscape.
