On June 20th and 21st, the University of València will host the International Workshop on Metrical Phonology, at the Faculty of Philology, Translation, and Communication of the University of Valencia (César Simón Boardroom) in the context of the project New Evidence for Internally Layered Ternary Feet: Theory and Applications of Prosodic Phonology(PI: Violeta Martínez Paricio), funded by Generalitat Valenciana, Conselleria de Educación, Universidades y Empleo (GE 2023, ref. CIGE/2022/114).
The invited speakers are René Kager (Utrecht University), Kevin Ryan (Harvard University), and Ryan Bennett (University of California Santa Cruz), and over the course of these two days, around fifteen linguists will present and discuss their work on metrical and prosodic phonology.
