The North Station will be, from 19 May to 17 June, a space for meeting in which the historical, artistic and social aspects of an emblematic building of the Valencian modernist architecture will be exhibited.
The historically known as Valencia-Término and main railway station of Valencia celebrates the centenary of its inaugurations and presents in a compilation of images, maps and texts its path from 1917 until the present day.
The exhibition Meetings at the station. València-Nord, a space for modernity (1917-2017) shows a historical, artistic and social vision of the emblematic Valencian station designed by architect Demetrio Ribes Marco.
Organised by the Valencian Department for Housing, Public Works and Territory Structuring, through the Demetrio Ribes Chair, and with the collaboration of the Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia, Adif and the City Hall of Valencia, the showing is organised as a discourse that traverses the daily life of the station, walking through its projects, its architecture and its ornamentation.
Among the details that form it, the exhibition shows a selection of old and contemporary photographs, maps, original pieces of pottery and an unpublished miniature, among other elements, where the different approaches transmitted by this historical station, which is celebrating its first centenary, are reflected.
