Admission requirements to the specialisation in FP (Vocational training) - Sociocultural and Community Services 

Those who hold a degree (Licenciatura orDiplomatura) en Pedagogy, Psychology, Psychopedagogy, Audio-visual Communication, Journalism, Information Sciences, Library Science and Documentation, Teacher, Social Education, Social Work, Sociology, Social and Cultural Antropology, Humanities, Advertising and Public Relations, Criminology, Political and Administration Sciences, Public Management and Administration can access this specialisation without having to take the entrance examination.
Those students that do not confirm having taken any of the degrees previously mentioned must have to pass an entrance examination that confirms their command – at a university degree level – of the competencies related to this specialisation. The examination will deal with the contents that are included in the following syllabus.

 Syllabus for the entrance examination to the specialisation in Socialcultural and Community Services 

1. Social reality. Fields of social intervention. Evolution and intervention models. Sociocultural and Community Services. Attitudinal aspects of the intervention.

2. Social research: assessment of the groups and social contexts. Data gathering techniques. Analysis techniques. Producing conclusions.

3. Stages of the human development: childhood, adolescence, maturity and old age. Implications from the educational and social point of view: projects, institutions and associations.

4. Social intervention. Intervention in social integration and marginalisation: Concept and theories. Historical frame.

5. Sociocultural animation: origin and evolution. Concept of sociocultural animation, objectives and functions. Sociocultural animation and values. Other concepts related: lifelong learning, formal and non-formal education, informal education and adult education. Sociocultural animation in Spain and the European Union.

6. Activities coordinators. Professional field and types. Functions, values, capacities and attitudes. His/her role in intervention of sociocultural programmes. Resources in sociocultural animation: analysis and organisation. Resources of the community and its usefulness in the field of sociocultural animation: ethnographical, historical, economic, cultural, ecological and geographic.

7. Education in values as a methodological axis in the social and educational intervention in people (moral and civic education, equal opportunities education for both genders, environmental education, health education, sexual education, road education and consumer education).

8. Leisure and free time. Characteristics of leisure in today's society. Implications in social development. Needs and social demands. Pedagogical criteria of the socioeducative and leisure activities. Attention to collectives with special difficulties: technical help, adjustment of programmes, techniques and activities.

9. Planning process: precision levels (plan, programme and project) and stages. Creating programmes: models, types and elements. The project as an intervention axis: stages and characteristics. Creating leisure and free time projects.

10. The assessment process: stages, agents, common problems. Assessment strategies: techniques and tools; classification, description and application guidelines. Research-action methodology. Assessment in leisure and free time. 

11. Techniques and animation methods in the field of leisure and free time. Organisation of socioeducative and leisure activities. Social, relational and affective value of the game. Classification of games. Sociocultural application of the game. Play centre: organisation and material selection criteria.

12. The group: concept and types. Distribution of functions in the group: the roles. Group dynamics: concept and techniques applicable in the field of Animation. Management style. Group typology. Communication within the groups.

13. Community intervention: concept. Community structure and organisation in today's society. Community intervention fields. Partnership.

14. Cultural intervention: concept and areas.  Social communication media: press, radio, cinema and television. The impact of image. Influence of television, cinema and advertisement: iconic literacy.

15. International cooperation organisations. Programmes of the European "Va unir" related with social action. Non-governmental organisations: characteristics. Social volunteering.

16. Child rights. Legal framework. Childhood in a social risk situation. Risk indicators. Child abuse indicators. Specialised services within a social welfare policy: adoption and family care, reception centres and intervention with the families.

17. School in the Spanish Education System. Legal framework. General characteristics, purposes, curricular structure and learning areas. Attention to diversity in day-care centres. Diversity factors in childhood. Special education needs. School integration: objectives and resources. Collaboration centre-family-other external agents.

18. Child games, methodological axis of intervention in 0-6 years. Game theory. Characteristics and classifications. Game and work. Game and development. Observation in child games: procedures and tools. The role of the adult in the game. Selection criteria of games. Games in the  en los child recreational projects: trips, parties, summer camps, camps and others.  Toys as a didactic resource: analysis and assessment of the toy.
