Interdisciplinary Colloquium - 13th Week of the Italian Language in the World
The colloquium Verdi europeo. Saberes musicales, saberes teatrales (European Verdi. Musical knowledge, theatrical knowledge) will reflect on the European dimension of Verdi’s “Italianility”, exploring his adaptations of authors like Shakespeare (Macbeth), Schiller (I masnadieri), Dumas, fils (La traviata) and García Gutiérrez (Il trovatore).
It will delve into Verdi’s musical dramaturgy, in how meeting non-Italian authors fueled his creativity, and how his operas contributed to the spread of European literature in the Italian context.
