The Universitat got off to a good start in the first round of the Regional Sports University Championship (CADU), which took place yesterday, 3 November, and confronted the teams of the Universitat against the Valencia Catholic University Saint Vincent Martyr.

The teams of the Universitat set the performance bar really high in this first round, in which they won eight of the eleven games played.

The session started at 11.00h with the matches of male football, indoor football and male basketball. The first compete in the facilities of the Parc Central; the indoor football played in the Sport Centre Villa Carmen and the basketball team in the pavilion of the UCV. The three teams won cogently to the local team, 0-4 the male indoor football, 1-4 the male football, and 59-102 male basketball.

Those were followed by women’s basketball and indoor football, that from 13.00 played their matches in the Pavilion UCV and in the Sports Centre Villa Carmen (Torrent). And just as their colleagues, get more victories of the UV, with a 3-5 in women’s indoor football, and 44-106 in women’s basketball.

As local team, the round started at 13.00 with the seam of women’s handball from the University Pavilion.  The girls of Sagrario Santana closed the scoreboard at 38-13. Just half an hour later (13.30), the Sala Sur of the Aulario V, held the man’s volleyball, a very tough game that finished with the victory of the Universidad Católica of Valencia 1-3. The first lose of the day for the UV. Men’s handball and women’s volleyball teams closed the round of team sports , at 15.00 and 15.30h.  Men didn’t get to prevail and lose in the second match of the round 27-32. Volleyball girls, won 3-0.

It was also played the Regional University Sport Championship of the modality paddle and tennis, that took place in Tarongers Campus of the Universitat de València. The paddle team lose 1-2 against the Universidad Católica de Valencia in the overall (men won and women and mixed team lost).  Their colleagues of the tennis team got the opposite result, they won against the Católica 2-1 thanks to a good game of the mixed pair and the individual men’s match. With the only lose of the individual women’s individual.
