The Universitat becomes Spanish runner-up in Swimming

The Swimming team of the UV became Spain’s runner-up in Swimming last 23 April at the Spanish University Championship of Swimming which took place in Alcorcón (Madrid) and was organised by the Universidad Camilo José Cela.

The team coached by Diego Encarnación obtained 782 points which gave them a second position in the podium, which they shared with the Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia, which came in first with 1013 points and with the Universidad de Granada, which was third with 541 points.

Additionally, the team also reached the podium in the men’s and women’s category, where the UV got a silver and a bronze, respectively.

Furthermore, in this occasion, the UV was also represented in adapted swimming thanks to three players: Alba Villa, who got a silver in 100m breaststroke; Laura Mengo a bronze in 50m backstroke and Leyrse Ortí, who got the silver in 50m backstroke. The players, apart from participating in the national event, will get to go to the 2016 European University Games of Adapted Swimming which will take place this summer.
