4. Upon your return to Valencia.
5. Other documents.
6. How to upload documents to the UV Electronic Office.
1. Once you have submitted your application on the Student Portal of the University of Valencia.
a) Accept your scholarship through the UV Electronic Office: search for the procedure "International Program Scholarship" and follow the steps for acceptance. The acceptance period is:
- For all destinations: from February 10 to 28, 2026.
As part of the scholarship acceptance, you must provide a bank account number of which you are the holder or co-holder.
Note: if the deadline set by the host university is earlier than UV's acceptance deadline, you must follow the host university's date.
Failure to accept the scholarship on time will result in forfeiting the assigned placement.
b) Once you accept the scholarship, you will receive the official appointment letter, downloadable in PDF format from the UV Electronic Office. You will be notified by email and can also find it under "my procedures" within the "International Program Scholarship". The appointment letter is available in English, Valencian, and Spanish.
2. Before departure:
1.- Apply to the host university: Receiving a scholarship does not guarantee acceptance by the host institution. You must apply and submit all required documentation within their deadlines.
2.- Admission letter: Once received from the host university, upload it to the UV Electronic Office under "my procedures" > "International Program Scholarship" > "actions" > "attach".
3.- Learning Agreement. Through Portalumne
- Go to the tab “Mobility programmes in other universities” – “Fill up and update the Learning Agreement”. You must complete your learning agreement and request your academic mobility coordinator to approve it. You can find the list of coordinators at this link. The agreement includes:
- The courses you will attend at the host university
- The courses that will be recognized
- The mapping between them
- Once you have submitted your proposal, your coordinator must validate it (close it) by July 9. If it has not been validated, you will not be able to complete your self-enrollment.
- You do not need to print, sign, or submit these documents, as the information is already recorded in the mobility application when the agreement is closed. However, the host university may still request them.
4.- Self-enrollment. Before leaving for your stay abroad, you must complete your self-enrollment at the Universitat de València. Once the learning agreement has been submitted and your academic coordinator has closed it in Portalumne, you must self-enroll according to the appointment assigned by the Universitat de València. Self-enrollment is scheduled from July 20 to 31, 2026.
The courses will be loaded automatically from your learning agreement in Portalumne. Self-enrollment will only be completed when the selected courses match those in the latest closed agreement.
If you are abroad for a semester, you may also select the courses you will study at the Universitat de València.
Outgoing students must pay the enrollment fees to the Universitat de València according to the number of ECTS credits included in their learning agreement. They will be exempt from paying them at the host university. Outgoing students may also apply for the MEC general study grant, as it is compatible with the International Programme grant.
5.- Modification of the Learning Agreement. Modifications are only required if the courses initially included in the learning agreement are changed. The procedure must be completed through the Portal Serveis Estudiant so that the changes are recorded in your academic record. The modifications must be requested once you are at the host university and within five weeks of the start of classes. Once the changes have been requested through the Portal Serveis Estudiant, your mobility coordinator must close the agreement.
Modifications made before October 5 result in a new “Initial Learning Agreement,” which replaces the previous agreements. On October 5, this initial agreement becomes final.
Modifications requested after October 5 involve a “Changes Agreement” —or during— which is established once the mobility coordinator closes the agreement.
Subsequent changes result in a new “Changes Agreement” that includes all changes and replaces the previous change documents.
The learning agreement may be modified after self-enrollment —from July 20 to 31—. These changes will appear in the enrollment when the student returns to the Universitat de València. This may result in updates in the payment of enrollment fees, which will be managed by the faculty.
6.- Purchase health insurance: Since your destination is outside the EU, you must get international insurance. Some universities (especially in the US) require you to buy their specific policy. UV requires the following coverage:
- Medical assistance for accident/illness (mandatory)
- Medical transport/repatriation (mandatory)
- Repatriation in case of death (mandatory)
- Family travel in case of emergency (recommended)
- Civil liability (mandatory)
Ensure COVID-19 coverage is included.
Providers:
- OnCampus (UV is a partner university)
- guard.me
A copy of the insurance must be submitted upon arrival at the host university.
7.- Apply for a visa: Most countries require a visa. Apply at the embassy or consulate of the host country using your admission letter. For safety guidelines, check the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
8.- Vaccinations: May be mandatory or recommended. Plan ahead—some require multiple doses. Check vaccination centers in Valencia and the Ministry of Health’s travel recommendations.
9.- Register with the Spanish Consulate and Travelers Registry in your destination country. This is mandatory and offers security benefits.
3. Upon arrival at the host university:
Upload the following to "my procedures" in the UV Electronic Office under "International Program Scholarship":
- Certificate of arrival, signed and stamped by the host university’s International Office.
- Copy of your insurance, showing coverage period and your name.
- Boarding pass of your flight.
Only in-person mobility is allowed.
Important: You will only receive your full scholarship once all previous documents have been submitted.
4. Upon your return to Valencia:
Upload the following to the UV Electronic Office:
- Certificate of stay, signed and stamped by the host university, stating start and end dates (no more than 5 days before the end date).
- Grades: Once UV receives your transcript from the host university, your academic coordinator will validate your subjects and update your academic record.
Important: Students must pass at least 50% of the international ECTS credits enrolled at UV. Failure to meet this requirement will result in full repayment of the scholarship.
5. Other Documents:
- Withdrawal: Submit via your UV student email to programa.internacional@uv.es.
- Extension requests: Only accepted before December 31, 2026. Extensions convert a semester stay into a full-year stay. They must include a modified learning agreement and have no financial implications.
- Reduction of stay: Procedures available on request.
