CV+i Tourism Day, an innovation event in the Valencian tourism sector

The CV+i Tourism Day is an initiative promoted by the Valencian Government in order to bring together and give visibility to the actors of the innovation tourism sector in the Valencian Community. It will take place on 17 October 2024, at the Terra Mítica conference centre in Benidorm.

The CV+i Tourism Day will bring together the main players in the Valencian tourism sector to facilitate their networking and accelerate innovation. The event will include a series of presentations and different networking spaces. It will also showcase the companies that are revolutionising a booming sector in the Valencian Community.

10:00 – 10:15: Institutional welcome in the Sala Faraón

10:00 – 17:00: Meetings in the Sala Networking (duration of meetings: 15 minutes)

10:15 – 10:45: ‘Transforming the tourism sector from and for the Valencian Innovation System’ in the Sala Faraón

10:30 – 12:00: ‘Exploring tourism diversity’ in the Sala Polivalente. Speakers: Ana Gilsanz (UA), José Manuel Pastor (Full University Professor of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis and Head of the MESVAL Chair at the UV), Sara Prieto (Associate Professor and Principal Investigator of the AWESOME Project at the UA) and Virginia Real Gayá (CEO and founder of Accesscity)

10:30 – 15:00: Exhibition area for companies that are revolutionising a booming sector (hall)

10:45 – 11:15: ‘Opportunities of the Smart Destination Platform for R+D+I and Entrepreneurship in the Valencian Community’ in the Sala Faraón

11:15 – 12:00: Panel discussion: ‘What new professional profiles are in demand by Valencian tourism companies?’ in the Sala Faraón. Speaker: Virginia Ortega (UA Pedro Zaragoza Orts Chair for Tourism Studies)

12:00 – 13:00: Innotransfer session: ‘Opportunities for open innovation in the tourism sector’ in the Sala Faraón

12:00 – 14:00: ‘Tourism: impact and sustainability’ in the Sala Polivalente. Speakers: Amparo Cervera (UV and Institute of International Economics), José Manuel Pastor (Full University Professor of Fundamentals of Economic Analysis and Head of the MESVAL Chair at the UV), Carla Rodríguez Sánchez (Associate Professor at the UA) and Juan José Tarí Guilló (Full University Professor of Business Organisation at the UA)

13:00 – 14:00: Startup competition in the Sala Faraón

15:00 – 16:30: ‘Identification and control of unauthorised tourist accommodation in the Valencian Community’ in the Sala Faraón

15:00 – 17:00: ‘Projects leading the future of innovation in travel technology, AI, digitalisation and smart tourism’ in the Sala Polivalente. Speakers: Enrique Bigne (Full University Professor of Marketing at the UV), Amparo Cisneros (Project and Commercial Manager at Scolab Software Colaborativo S.L.), Jaime Guixeres (Innovation Manager in LabLENI at the UPV HumanTech Institute) and José Manuel Lledó (CEO at Wondella)

17:00 – 17:30: Awards and closing ceremony
