On May 27, 2026, at 11:30, Antonio Pascual-Leone and Javier Fernández-Álvarez will deliver the workshop “5 Ways to Work with Emotion: A Practitioner’s Guide.” It will take place in person in the Sala de Grados of the Faculty of Psychology.

The I-PSI-TEC research group and the University Expert in Therapeutic Skills of the ADEIT Foundation invite you to join this one-hour free instructional workshop. Dr. Antonio Pascual-Leone will present five evidence-based ways to work with emotions in psychotherapy. Drawing on universal principles of change from his upcoming book Principles of Emotion Change: What Works and When in Psychotherapy and Everyday Life, Dr. Pascual-Leone will offer practical ways to promote emotional processing with patients across a variety of presenting problems. This is a transdiagnostic workshop: the skills presented can be integrated into any therapeutic approach, enriching your existing clinical practice. Video recordings of real sessions will be used to illustrate patient processes and therapeutic interventions.

Dr. Antonio Pascual-Leone is Professor of Psychology at the University of Windsor, director of the Emotion Change Lab, and an internationally recognized expert in emotional processing and psychotherapy research. He is co-author of Emotion Focused Therapy for Complex Trauma (APA, 2nd ed., 2023) and author of the forthcoming Principles of Emotion Change (APA, in press, 2025). His work has been recognized with career and distinguished publication awards from international associations, including the American Psychological Association and the Society for Psychotherapy Research. As a certified trainer by the International Society for Emotion Focused Therapy, Dr. Pascual-Leone is also a highly sought-after educator and speaker, known for his innovative approach to teaching psychotherapeutic skills. His TEDx talk on resolving relational trauma has been viewed more than six million times.

This activity is organized by I-PSI-TEC (https://www.ipsitec.com/) and the University Expert in Therapeutic Skills (Aiglé Association – Universitat de València, ADEIT), an official postgraduate program focused on the practical training of therapeutic skills from an integrative model in psychotherapy.
