The Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) regulates the conditions under which the strains are to be supplied.

The general MTA of the CECT can be consulted here. The aforementioned MTA has been drawn up in accordance with the recommendations of the MOSAICC program and only permits the use of microorganisms for non-commercial purposes. Should users be interested in commercial use, they should contact the CECT to determine which parties have rights over the strains in order to establish the corresponding agreements.

Some strains may have specific MTAs, which will be indicated on the corresponding tab. In the event that any clause of the said MTA is not in agreement with that established in the general MTA of the CECT, the conditions of the specific MTA will prevail. An example of these MTAs are those associated with the REDESMI program, the Spanish Network of Microbial Resources, which aims to facilitate the commercial exploitation of strains with Spanish public funds.
