Three members of the Faculty’s teaching staff have been awarded funding under the 8th Call for Development Cooperation Projects of the University of Valencia, recently resolved by the Office of the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Cooperation and Multilingualism.

Three Faculty members selected in the 8th UV Call for Development Cooperation Projects

Three members of the Faculty’s teaching staff have been awarded funding under the 8th Call for Development Cooperation Projects of the University of Valencia, recently resolved by the Office of the Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Cooperation and Multilingualism. The call aims to promote university-based international cooperation projects focused on development and capacity building in different contexts.

Rocío Domene Benito has been selected for the project Preservation of cultural heritage and strengthening the autonomy and leadership of Potiguara women mangaba gatherers in Paraíba, to be carried out in Brazil. The project received a score of 86 points and funding of €16,060.

Ignacio García Ferrandis will carry out the project Education and sport for human development and social inclusion. Improvement of facilities at Shipalo Primary School in Kakamega (Kenya). The proposal received 85.50 points and will receive €15,000 in funding.

Finally, María Alcantud Díaz has been selected for the project Sustainable management of Varroa in Bolivian beekeeping systems: diagnosis, impact and participatory strategies with a gender perspective, which will be implemented in Bolivia. The initiative received 84.75 points and a grant of €21,500.

The presence of Faculty teaching staff among the selected projects highlights the Faculty’s commitment to international university cooperation, as well as the diversity of areas through which training, education and research can contribute to sustainable development and to improving the living conditions of different communities.
