My research aims to reveal the fundamental basis of desiccation and low temperature stress tolerance in seeds and other plant propagules, particularly in relation to successful cryopreservation. In addition, I am interested in the variation in longevity in plant propagules, from bryophyte and fern spores as a unicellular model to more complex systems. Often these studies involve making structural and biophysical determinations. At the university, I carry out teaching activities in Botany. I also carry out training activities on cryobiotechnology for technical staff and researchers and supervise undergraduate (MSc and PhD) students and postdocs.

Alberto Bouzas Blanco (PhD). Associate Professor at the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Valencia (Spain). After completing his Chemical Engineering degree at the University of Valencia (1999) he carried out his PhD on Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2003). From that moment he has been working in several research activities dealing with wastewater and biokinetic characterization for optimization of energy consumption in WWTPs; anaerobic sludge digestion, nutrient removal and recovery from wastewater; monitoring of priority pollutants in WWTP effluents and coastal waters; and anaerobic MBRs for urban wastewater treatment. All this research experience has been developed within the CALAGUA research group. The development of the scientific activities listed above has resulted in several scientific publications in indexed journals, in national and international conferences and in the participation in numerous projects and research contracts with both public agencies and private companies.

Javier Ortega is an associate professor in the Department of Business Management at the University of Valencia. He has previously worked in advanced service companies (consulting, banking and nautical), as well as in research institutions (during his pre- and post-doctoral studies). His research interests are about the inclusion of the environmental dimension in companies' strategies (eco-innovation). In addition, he has studied university-industry relationships and cooperation between agents of the innovation system in various contexts, participating in regional, national and European projects. The results of his research have been published in scientific journals such as Scientometrics, Journal of Entrepreneurship, Management and Innovation, International Journal of Technology Management and Sustainable Development and Arbor, among others. He has conducted several stays at the University of Tampere (in 2009 and 2014), with which he often collaborates, specifically with researchers from the School of Management.

Arnau Pérez Roig studied Biology, mention in Fundamentals of Health Biology, at the Universitat de València (UV, Valencia, Spain) from 2014 to 2018. Then he moved to Dresden to pursue a Master's degree in Molecular Bioengineering at the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD, Dresden, Germany) from 2018 to 2020. Currently, he is a PhD student in Biomedicine and Biotechnology with a grant from the Generalitat Valenciana (ACIF/2021/334) at UV focusing his research on the prevention and control of the pathogen Vibrio vulnificus under the supervision of Prof. Carmen Amaro.

My field of research is Environmental and Reosurce Economics and particularly non-market valuation of environmental and publics goods. Recently, I have also been involved in the economic valuation of the above-mentioned goods using Life Satisfaction Functions or Happines Functions (Subjective Well-Being).
