We have the pleasure to inform you that on 24 October 2017 the Confederal Training Units Podem a Comú Podem- A Marea have registered in the Congress of Deputies a draft bill with the purpose of ending the salary inequality between men and women. In the light of the draft bill, Maria Amparo Ballester, professor of Employment Law and Social Security of the UV and Director of University Institute of Women’s Studies, has made her participation.
The main purposes of the draft bill are focused on the promotion of the transparency on the part of the business company in order to detect and correct the salary inequalities between women and men. Likewise, it is intended to visibilize and give real value to the women’s work, as well as to destroy stereotypes on certain abilities that are socially and culturally considered as feminine. Because this is a transversal law, this proposal affects aspects not only work and functional, but also aspects of domestic work, care and support for life, which are mostly developed by women.
