Experts debate about the regulation models of public radio and television broadcasts at Universitat

Universitat de València will host on Friday 27th February, an international seminar about public communication policies which will gather experts to analyse and debate about the regulation models of public radio and television broadcasts. The academic event will take place at the Assembly hall of the Faculty of Social Sciences, which is the place where the activity will be organised and it will be opened by its dean, Ernest Cano, at 9 a.m.

Throughout the morning, the following professors will take part: Ramón Zallo, Audio-visual Communication full university professor of Basque University and former consultant of public Basque RTV, moderated by Manuel S. Jardín; Enric Marín i Otto, Journalism and Communications Studies professor of Universitat de Barcelona and former president of the Catalan Corporation of Audio-visual Media, presented by Josep Lluís Gómez Mompart; and Philip Schlesinger, Cultural Policy full university professor of Glasgow University, which will be presented by Rafael Xambó.

 

The morning session will end with the presentation of Mònica Parreño’s proposal for a new Valencian radio and television broadcast of Ricard Blasco Col•lectiu.

 

In the evening, a panel discussion made of politics will be celebrated. With the title of “Proposals for a new public radio and television before autonomous elections”, at Aula Magna of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Sciences at 19 p.m., moderated by the writer and journalist Alfons Cervera. Ignacio Blanco (EUPV), Antonio Montiel (Podemos), Mònica Oltra (Compromís), Ximo Puig (PSPV-PSOE) and political representatives of UpyD, C’s and PP will also take part.

 

The Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology and the Department of Language Theory and Communication Sciences of the Faculty of Social Sciences have organised the seminar and they have been coordinated by Ricard Blasco Col•lectiu.
