XVI Encounter of Language University Volunteering

20 years of Language Volunteering. What do we provide society during the university phase and later?

 

Presentation

20 years ago started the first experiences of language volunteering in the universities Autònoma de Barcelona, Valencia and Jaume I. Most of the universities of the Xarxa Vives have ad or have language volunteering programmes, where thousand of people have participated fro all places and all degrees. They contributed to increase the use of the own language in the university community and to promote the value of the multilingualism. Most of these people have made the transition to the labour market, from all professions and must of them are still active in the political, associative and union world. What provides language volunteering to society?

Objectives

Boost the contact between language volunteering from all universities of the Xarxa Vives, know one of our most emblematic region, and debate about out language policies in and out of the university area.

Josep Castells Baró, deputy in the Parliament of the Balearic Islands and volunteer in the Universitat de Barcelona.

Payed by participants Some universities organise their volunteer transport to the Encounter Consult is in the Language service of your university.

What to bring to the Encounter?

Passport or identity card, sanitary card, swimsuit, towel, flip-flops, warm clothes, mountain or sportive shoes, impermeable, cup, water bottle of 2 litres (empty), energetic bars, backpack and flashlights. We recommend to bring some information or leaflet about ypuir university, your volunteering programme, your region...

Participant measures

The participation in these activities is volunteer and under the responsibility of the participants. All people registered participate in the activities of the Encounter under his responsibility and accepts all the measures of the pre-registration form. Any breach will entail the immediate lose of the condition of volunteer and the right to participate in the activities and services, included transport and accommodation. The organisation recommends participants the subscription to a insurance which cover the risks of mountain activities.

Registration

In order to participate in the Encounter you must fulfil all these requirements:

The person must be of legal age.

To be or to have been registered in a volunteering programme in any of the universities of the Xarxa Vives.

Accept participant measures detailed below.

Pay 35€ for the costs of the Encounter. This payment, following the procedure indicated, must be done once has ben admitted your pre-registration. No refunds will be made.

La registration provides accommodation training activities and meals.

Places are limited and will be assigned by order of pre-registration to the people that fulfil all requirements.

You must accept all measures and fill the form that you will find in this link.

We will confirm you by e-mail if you have been admitted and how to made the payment.
