There are two types of university student IDs: one is issued for academic purposes and the other, the Visa Electron card, is issued in accordance with an agreement signed between the University and Bankia for both academic purposes and banking functions.
The ID card for academic purposes can be substituted with the Visa Electrón card upon request at faculty.
Validity
The card is valid for four years.
Fee
The fee for issuing, maintaining and updating the card is 5.87 euros for the 2012-2013 academic year.

The card without banking functions includes the following academic applications:
- Card holder identification
- Accessing facilities
- Accessing Virtual Secretaries:
Checking academic transcript
Checking exam grades
Adaptations
Requesting group changes
Checking available courses for the academic year
Requesting certificates and fee payments
Reserving computers in computer rooms
Booking sports facilities
