Fees are set each year by the Valencian government according to:

  1. the number of credits
  2. the nature of the degree subjects
  3. other administrative fees (student ID card, setting up academic record, etc). When you register for individual subjects or for credit hours, the total tuition fee cannot be less than 300 euros. However, this minimum amount will not be applied if you have pending subjects or credits whose total amount does not exceed the minimum.

Public prices and rights will be set by the Autonomous Community, within the limits that the General Conference on University Policy establishes, which are related with the service cost, in the following terms:

  • Public fees will cover from the 15 per cent to the 25 per cent of the first enrolment cost
  • From the 30 per cent to the 40 per cent of the second enrolment cost
  • From the 65 per cent to the 75 per cent of the third enrolment cost
  • From the 90 per cent to the 100 per cent from the fourth enrolment cost

The fees for the first, second and subsequent enrolments can be found in the Governmental Ordinance 195/2025, of 12 December of the Consell, amending Governmental Ordinance 101/2024, of 2 August of the Consell, which regulates the public fees for university academic and complementary services.

The following exemptions and reductions apply:

  1. Grants

Payment of tuition fees (academic fees for teaching activities) is not made until the grant application is resolved. Initially, students will only receive a payment receipt covering administrative fees, and the cost of second and subsequent enrolments not covered by the grant. At the time of enrolment, students must select the payment method and schedule, in the case that the grant is not awarded. However, note that tuition fees can be charged if the academic requirements for maintaining the grant are not met.

  1. Honours Distinction and credits

Obtaining the Honours Distinction (Matrícula de Honor), in one or more subjects within the same programme of studies will be entitled to a reduction in tuition fees for the next academic year. The reduction will be equivalent to the cost of the corresponding subjects. In the case of programmes structured by credits, the reduction will apply to the same number of credits as those awarded with the Honours Distinction.

Honours Distinction in Baccalaureate / extraordinary prize in Baccalaureate

The students with honours in the global assessment of Baccalaureate studies or with an extraordinary prize are exempt from paying tuition fees, during the first academic year on a one-time basis. They will only have to pay for the administrative fees.

  1. Large families and single-parent families

Students who are members of large families are entitled to the following benefits:

  • Special category: full exemption of tuition fees
  • General category: 50 % reduction
  1. Victims of armed bands and terrorism. Students who have been victims of it, as well as their spouses –not legally separated– and their children, are entitled to full exemption from tuition fees.

  2. Victims of gender-based violence. Students who are victims of gender-based violence are entitled to the full exemption of tuition fees, as well as their dependent children under 25 years of age.

  3. Students with disabilities. Students with a disability of 33 % or more, as well as those considered equivalent, are entitled to full exemption from the tuition regulated in this chapter.

  4. Students under the Child Protection System or Juvenile Justice System at any time during the three years prior to reaching the age of majority.
  5. Students who are in a social exclusion situation.

Payment methods and schedule

At the Universitat de València, there are two payment options:

-Direct debit through any bank or savings bank in Spain. Please note that you must provide your bank account details when enrolling, and subsequently, submit the Direct Debit Mandate to the secretariat of your faculty.

-Credit card payment will be made through the online payment platform of the Online office. Students will receive a notification through any of the available electronic means: e-mail, mobile phone apps and Online office. They can view the issued receipt and pay online.

For both payment methods, you can choose one of the following payment plans:

1. Direct debit in a single payment
2. Direct debit in two instalments
3. Instalment payment over eight months.

Consult the payment schedule for the dates on which receipts will be issued

You should take these dates into account to avoid the cancellation of your enrolment because of non-payment.

The established payment deadline is non-extendable.

Non-payment consequences

Not paying the enrolment fee or any instalment –in the case of instalment payment– will result in the cancellation of the enrolment, without any right to a refund of the amount already paid. In such cases, the enrolment will be automatically withdrawn.

The student will lose the grades that he may have obtained during the academic year.

When the enrolment is cancelled because of non-payment in the last academic year, it will be required for the admission of a new enrolment the full payment in a single instalment and in cash. The enrolment must be either fully paid, or if it is the case, cancelled before the end of November of the academic year in which the enrolment takes place.

Students who pay the enrolment outside the established deadline, or those who have chosen the direct debit and whose payment cannot be processed on time for reasons attributable to them, will be required to pay the management costs of non-payment that are approved for every academic year, along with any bank interests charged by the entity in relation to the unpaid amount.
