The range of studies offered at the University of Valencia is one of its attractions, both for its diversity and for its coherence and quality.
In recent years, a process of reflection and dialogue has been developed. It has enabled significant progress to be made in the design of a harmonised offer of official Degrees and Masters, and the management procedures have been modified to make them more flexible and transparent.
On the other hand, a strategy has been implemented to promote and enhance the value of PhDs, their connection with our lines of research and their value as an innovative driver of change in the productive and social model.
We must also highlight the strategy developed in recent years to make Continuous Training more flexible, dynamic and adapted to the needs of our society, opening up new and important possibilities for collaboration and strengthening the concept of lifelong learning.
But we must continue to move forward. We must be able to take advantage of the challenge posed by the Covid-19 pandemic crisis for the teaching staff, who have had to suddenly and forcibly adapt their teaching to a non-face-to-face format, and for the students, who have also had to adjust to different formats in order to, without renouncing our status as a face-to-face university, carry out a bold and innovative teaching transformation that places the students at the centre of their learning.
As the Minister of Universities, Joan Subirats, recently said (El País, 12 January 2022): 'We are not in an era of change, we are in a change of era'. This challenge will only be met if all our activities and actions, starting with the training we offer, respond to social challenges.
