The PROTED association, winner of the Gold Medal of the city 2022, has organised together with INNOPAC, an association linked to European projects, a conference on Valencia World Design Capital.
The conference began on Wednesday 22nd February at 5pm in the Grao lecture hall where the associate professor of sociology, Pau Díaz, spoke about "Design capital cities and their impact on Valencia". This session was organised behind closed doors with the aim of providing an introduction for those who had less knowledge of the subject. This day was a considerable success, as the Grao classrooms were almost sold out.
Later on Monday 27 February at 5 p.m., the first intergenerational session was held at the Faculty of Economics with Miguel Maestro (a prestigious designer with experience in the World Design Capital) and Chuan Li, Doctor and member of INNOPAC. Both showed the relevance of design in the city of Valencia and explained why Valencia is World Design Capital.
Last Monday 6th March was the last session on the World Design Capital. This session was inspired by the so-called "Design thinking workshop". The workshop was conducted by Fernando Álvarez, member of the Econcult Research Unit, as well as by Guillem Bacete, currently specialised in cultural consultancy and with extensive experience in European projects. This workshop had a more participatory approach and merged the two previous ones with great success.
Finally, on 23rd March, the "Design Route through Valencia" will be carried out by Amparo Morató (official guide) who will show Valencia from another point of view. The design point of view.
