On Thursday 26 February 2026 at 12:00 pm, the session entitled “Culture as a structural dimension of innovation and territorial development: a dual perspective from research and practice” will take place, featuring Pau Rausell-Köster and Chema Segovia. The event forms part of Econcult’s ongoing work on the relationship between culture, innovation and territorial development, with particular attention to processes of economic and social transformation linked to cultural and creative industries.
The session adopts an analytical approach that understands culture not merely as a specific economic sector, but as a structural dimension shaping innovation ecosystems, symbolic capital generation and the capacity of territories to attract and retain talent. From this perspective, the discussion will address how cultural policies, urban planning and regional development strategies can integrate culture as a transversal driver of competitiveness and social cohesion.
Organised in collaboration with ingenio (CSIC-UPV) and with the participation of Culturalink, the event combines academic research in cultural economics and innovation studies with applied professional experience in strategic territorial and cultural projects.
