This publication won the 13th Edition of Demetrio Ribes Research Award and reflects on the implication of the Reial Societat Econòmica d’Amics del País de València in the configuration of the urban network in Valencia.

Founded in 1776, the society intervened in agriculture, commerce, industry and sociocultural progress, as well as territory research and urban planification as public administration advisors ands promoting projects like one of the most important map of the Valencian carthographic legacy- These and the associate documents served as source for the author to introduce us to the contribution of this society for the Valencian urban structure.
