Almost every entry has an argumented espose of the concept along with a series of texts. The expositive part offers a synthesis about the topic combining empiric data and theoretical debates. Each aspect's interpretation holds the proper references in their bibliography.

The texts serve multiple purposes. They uphold and credit the exposed ideas in the synthesis and (due to the heterogeneity of Valencian irrigation bound to a continuous dynamic evolution) try to provide chronological and geographical details for the reader without overloading the expositive part. They also contain a more precise and deep information on the analysis.

Sometimes, such an obvious thing is forgotten when interventions are made on the architecture and urban morphology of the past, so that we lose an important part of the roots of certain places. Architectural works that were designed with a very definite objective, alter their meaning after renovations in which spatial reorganisation prevails. For example, the space next to the baroque façade of the cathedral of Valencia changed significantly after the opening of the space now known as Plaza de la Reina; and the demolition of the city wall in 1865 completely transformed the urban image of the city and, with it, its historical perception. The railway, just like roads, is an essential element to understand the history of spatial organisation in a society, its territory quality, its flux of people and resources, its territory policies and its relations with other cities and mnicipalities.

This vision lead us to observe and reflect on a territory marked by its communication channeling, the Valencia-Madrid AVE, a line and transportation system that overlaps in time with other taveling methods and is related to the history of societies throughout centuries.

This catalogue of 100 elements of the Valencian landscape brings to light the most relevant and meaningful work of human projection in its natural habitat through different historical periods. They are elements built on the territory, architecture of their place. Landscape distribution is a process that can be read through roads, borders, cities and signals.

To elaborate this catalogue, 100 representative elements of our community's different eras were selected. It aims to bring forward these elements and preserve them and their heritage of great value. Their functional and technical aspect seems to go against this cultural consideraton except for the pieces so ancient they are read as heritage. These objects have never been treated as study, registration or protection material..
