The Chair Digital Gender Gap held between The Universitat de València (UV) and the Valencian Government, presented the report Initiatives for the promotion of STEM vocations in the Valencian Community on Monday 26 June 2023, on LAS NAVES de València.

The Chair for Digital Gender Gap promotes a series of activities to reduce differences of access, formation and employment in terms of the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) between men and women. As part of this objective, this year the Chair has prepared a study on the initiatives for the promotion of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) vocations working in the Valencian Community. The aim is to make an X-ray of the initiatives currently existing in the Valencian Community, which will allow us to know in detail what type of initiatives there are, which public they are aimed at, what impact they are achieving and in which areas it is necessary to go into more depth.

The study aims to be useful both for pre-university teachers, as a map to be able to know what activities could be incorporated in their classrooms, and for those who organise and promote these activities, collecting a Decalogue of good practices. This conference is part of the activities organised by the Chair for Digital Gender Gap (GVA-UV) by the Universitat de València and the Valencian Government, with the direction of General Directorate for the Fight against the Digital Gap from the Valencian Council for Innovation, Science, Universities and Digital Society and which counts on the funding of this Valencian Council.
