Philosophical passages and musical interludes, within the framework of the international congress "Kant, then and now".
With the metaphor of the world as the common thread, the philosophical-musical evening explores various aspects of Immanuel Kant's thought: from its cosmological dimension and his theory of knowledge to his understanding of moral life and beauty, and finally the search for peace as the driving force of his work. Each aspect will be exemplified in a selected text from his production: the Universal natural History and Theory of the Heavens (1755), the Critique of Pure Reason (1781), the Critique of Practical Reason (1788), the Critique of Judgement (1790) and Towards Perpetual Peace (1795). Each of these will receive a musical response on the piano. The repertoire includes pieces by Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Franz Liszt and Claude Debussy. They will be performed by the internationally renowned Valencian pianist Antonio Galera.
