Researchers, companies and investors in biotechnology will meet at the Parc Científic within the framework of the Innotransfer Forum organized by the rePCV

On Friday, November 29, the Science Park of the Universitat de València hosts a meeting to learn about the latest biotechnological solutions and promote networking between research groups, companies and investors in the sector.

Promoting biotechnological networking between research groups of the five Valencian public universities, Spanish companies and specialized investors is the objective of the Innotransfer forum organized by the Network of Valencian Science Parks (rePCV) in the Science Park of the Universitat de València, with the support of the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness.

The meeting will begin at the Marie Curie Auditorium with the presentation of Daniel Ramón, Vice President of R&D in Nutrition and Health of ADM Biopolis and 3rd Vice President of the Spanish Association of Bioenterprises (ASEBIO) who will address the challenges and  defiances of the sector in the coming decades In addition, he will highlight the uniqueness of the collaboration agreement that his biotechnology company maintains with the Institute for Integrative Systems Biology (I2SysBio, UV-CSIC), both located in the Science Park of the Universitat de València.

After that, research and/or developments that are being carried out by research groups and institutes of Valencian universities will be presented. Specifically, the following groups will intervene:Multidisciplinary Institute for Environmental Studies of the University of Alacant, the The Institute of Research, Development and Innovation in Healthcare Biotechnology of Elche(IDiBE) of the Miguel Hernández University, the Institute for Plant Molecular and Cell Biology of the Universitat Politècnica de València, the Biotechnology and Synthetic Biology R&D Group of the Universitat de València, and the Bioinspired Supramolecular Chemistry and Materials (BIOSUPRAMAT) group of the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón.

Next, an exhibition of products and services of biotech companies installed in the rePCV will take place: Glen Biotech, specialists in pest control tools, especially the red palm weevil; Bioithas, whose main activity is the financial management of licenses, patents and other health records of companies in the pharmaceutical sector, food supplements, cosmetics or food, for direct or indirect exploitation through third parties; Oscillum, experts in the use of intelligent materials to ensure food security; Iberogen, specialists in bird genetics; EpiDisease, biotechnology company of epigenetic research that develops innovative services and products for the diagnosis and treatment of human diseases, such as idiopathic scoliosis; Seqplexing, developer of kits and genetic analysis services; Binartis Genomics, specialists in genetic analysis system based on artificial intelligence for diagnosis in personalized medicine; Tesoro Imaging, MRI developers for dentists; and Biotica, whose technology is based on the functionalization of magnetic particles of only a few hundred nanometers in diameter, to which they add antibodies on their surface, capable of binding to certain bacteria.

The meeting will be closed with a space dedicated to promoting the network of contacts between participants and attendees, among which investors specialized in biotechnology will be found. In addition to this forum, the rePCV has programmed another INNOTRANSFER specialized in Artificial Intelligence to be celebrated on Wednesday, November 27 at the Alicante Science Park.
