Postdoctoral position at the PathoGenOmics lab

  • September 21st, 2022
Researcher

Our team study the genomic diversity and evolution of pathogens such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis and SARS-CoV-2 to try to understand the role of genetic determinants on virulence. We combine in vitro infections and computational approaches to decipher the genomic diversity and evolution of the pathogens, and the role of the product of genomic determinants in virulence. We are currently seven researchers, including predoctoral, postdoctoral and technical staff, based in the I2Sysbio, a join institute between the University of Valencia and CSIC, in Spain.

Project

The project aims to find the molecular mechanisms associated to differences of pathogenicity in different cominations of M. tuberculosis strains and different hosts. The approach includes experimental infections with M. tuberculosis in different host cells, and computational analisis of omics data derived from such infections and from in vitro culture of the bacteria.

Candidate

Recent PhD in microbiology, infection biology, bacterial evolution or related field.
