The Passeig Salutable [Healthy Walk] is an annual non-competitive sporting event that aims to promote a healthy lifestyle through the practice of sport. It consists of a beautiful 3.5 km route between two emblematic areas of the Universitat de València: the Principal's Office Darwin Square and the Botanical Garden, passing through the Vivers and Túria gardens. Around 1,000 people are taking part, mainly La Nau Gran students over the age of 55 and their families, as it aims to be an intergenerational meeting point.
The day chosen for the 12th Passeig is Sunday, October 2nd, at 10 h. We have many new features this year, take note:
- The walk changes the direction of its route: it will start at 10 h. at the Office of the Principal and will end at the Botanical Garden.
- No water bottles will be distributed on arrival to avoid the use of plastic. We encourage you to bring the water you need from home.
- There will be no lunch on arrival at the Botanical Garden. There you will find several cultural activities and you will be able to enjoy the magnificent vegetation of the Garden.
The Passeig is healthy but also supportive, every year we collaborate with a non-profit organisation. The beneficiary organisation of the 12th Passeig Saludable is the Alanna association, whose main aim is the inclusion of women and minors in vulnerable situations, especially women and minors victims of gender violence.
Registration will open on June 20th and you will receive a commemorative T-shirt (while stocks last). Registration fees for the Passeig:
- Individual registration: 5.62 €
- Family registration (3 or more members): 3.51 € per person
BASIS
Every year, on the occasion of the celebration of the International Day of Older Persons, the activity known as the Passeig Saludable of La Nau Gran, organised by the University Culture Service and the Sports Service of the Universitat de València, takes place.
1-OBJECTIVE
The Passeig Salutable is an intergenerational activity aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle (sport, healthy eating and an active social life). It offers an area of social and family coexistence, from the protagonism for the elderly and their positive visibility in the public spaces of Valencia.
Besides, it has a strong solidarity character (with the economic donation of a part of the registrations to a non-profit organisation).
2-ROUTE
The Passeig is a 3.5 kilometre walk through the most beautiful gardens in Valencia. The start will take place at 10 h. in the Principal's Office Plaça Darwin. From here, participants will head towards the Viveros gardens and walk through them down to the Turia riverbed, where they will walk for a couple of kilometres. The march will then go up to the Petxina promenade to enter the Hesperides garden and finish in the Botanical Gardens.
