The PACLE are the University of Valencia's Foreign Language Proficiency Accreditation Tests (Pruebas de Acreditación del Conocimiento de Lenguas Extranjeras de la Universitat de València). For its part,CertAcles is the model for the accreditation of language competence exams developed by the Association of Language Centres in Higher Education (ACLES), which brings together more than 60  university language teaching centres.

These certificates are valid for all purposes within the University of Valencia according to agreement 156/2018 of 10 July, approved by the Governing Council​. Candidates who pass the exam will be able to certify their language competence for undergraduate, postgraduate and master's degrees as well as mobility programmes. University staff will be able to certify their language skills for internal promotions or competitions within the university.

In addition, the PACLE CertAcles certificates are accepted by the Regional Government of Valencia to certify language and communication training in foreign languages according to Decree 61/2013 of 17 May of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport.  

The certificates are officially recognised by Spanish universities according to the agreement reached on 8 September 2011 by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE).
