
Digital trade regulation: towards decoupling?
Italian Martina F. Ferracane is a specialist in public policy and technological innovation. She is currently a research associate and product manager for Digital Trade Estimates at the European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE) and is part of the Policy Leader Fellowship programme at the European University Institute in Florence. In addition, she regularly works as a consultant for several institutions, including the United Nations, the World Economic Forum and the World Bank.
Martina is president and founder of FabLab Western Sicily, a social project that brings innovation and creativity to Sicilian schools through digital manufacturing. Moreover, in 2017 she co-founded Oral3D, a start-up that aims to make 3D printing accessible to all dentists. Thanks to these initiatives, Martina F. Ferracane was selected on the Forbes 30 Under 30 for Science and Healthcare list and is among the 15 most influential Italian women in digital issues.
During the seminar, Martina Francesca will give a lecture on ‘Digital trade regulation: towards decoupling?’, in which she will address the possibilities and challenges posed by the exponential growth of digital trade and will analyse the main challenges related to the regulation of new digital technologies in international trade law.
This conference has been organised by the Valenciaport Chair of Port Economics of the Universitat de València and the Port Authority of València with the aim of generating knowledge and promoting the dissemination of issues related to international trade and its maritime-port implications.
