Today, the team from the foreign languages department at the Centre d’Idiomes of the University shared their passion for language teaching and cultural exchange. This month, they are offering new courses open to the public, with a catalog featuring up to 13 languages, including 8 from the European Union, as well as Japanese, Korean, and Arabic.
Miguel Ángel Cortés, English coordinator, emphasized the importance of learning languages in a globalized world. Additionally, Mireia García-Yévenes, a translator, interpreter, and Valencian language teacher at the Centre, shared her professional and personal experiences in Asia, highlighting how language skills can enrich our lives and connect us with other cultures.
The team also includes educators like Daniel Hyams, an English philologist from Manchester, and Felipe Quintero, an expert in Italian, who organize cultural activities to deepen students’ knowledge of language, literature, cinema, and traditions from the countries they represent. Students can also enjoy weekly book clubs, exclusive discounts at Cine Babel, and social events that make language learning a practical and cultural experience.
The Centre d’Idiomes, located at Calle Serpis, 25, next to the Tarongers Campus, is the perfect place to immerse yourself in learning and diversity. This year, more than 2,000 international students enrich campus life with their cultures and stories.
