The Centre d’Idiomes of the University of Valencia fills today, October 9th, with authentic sounds and local tradition. Led by Salva Ribera, coordinator of the Valencian language area, the dolçaina and tabal students of the University’s Colla Dolçainera transform the soundproof classrooms into a space for culture, learning, and music.
Anna, Miguel, and Anna, together with their teacher Juan Ramón Martí, perform habaneras and traditional dances, while sharing stories and facts about Valencian folk music. Rehearsals take place every Thursday at the Centre d’Idiomes facilities on Calle Serpis, 25, thanks to the collaboration with the Musical Activities Department of the General Foundation of the University of Valencia.
This year, the group will combine rehearsals with cultural activities open to the public and Erasmus students, bringing Valencian musical heritage closer to the university’s international community. They have also announced their participation in the traditional bunyolà held before the Fallas festival.
The Centre d’Idiomes of the University of Valencia invites everyone to discover its wide range of language and cultural courses, including Valencian, English, and over 20 other languages.
