Initial learning agreement. You must formalise your learning agreement via Portal Serveis Estudiant. If your host university requires the learning agreement to be in the Online Learning Agreement (OLA) format, it must also be formalised in accordance with point 2 below via Erasmus Without Paper.

  1. Via Portal Serveis Estudiant
    • You must formalise your learning agreement in collaboration with your mobility coordinator (a list of mobility coordinators can be found here). Your learning agreement must outline the courses that you will take abroad and the courses that you will have recognised at the UV. Once you have made your learning agreement proposal, your learning must be validated and closed by your mobility coordinator. Only upon the closure of your learning agreement by your coordinator will you be able to print a copy – to do so, click the ‘Print first’ button. Your mobility coordinator must close your learning agreement before 10 July. Otherwise, you will not be able to complete the self-enrolment process. Prior to departure, you must submit a copy of your initial learning agreement duly signed (scanned signatures are accepted) by you, your mobility coordinator at the UV and your mobility coordinator at the host university. Once you complete this step, you must upload it to your Erasmus Studies file.
  2. Via Erasmus Without Paper
    • Some partner universities may require your learning agreement in the new Online Learning Agreement (OLA) format. If your host university requires this format, you must complete the learning agreement on this website. Once validated by both mobility coordinators, you must download your learning agreement and upload it to your Erasmus Studies file.

Online Language Support "OLS" Initial Language Test and Language Course

Participation in the OLS is voluntary. It is advisable to do it before starting your stay in the destination country and it can be repeated at any time.

STEP 1: Create an account (profile, user) "EU Login" (known as ECAS account) in a European Union application.

STEP 2: Sign up for the EU ACADEMY application

STEP 3: Access the OLS restricted area ("Core restricted area")

You can find links, instructions and tutorials in this document:

Erasmus international study credit self-enrolment. Before leaving for your stay you have to formalize your self-enrolment at the University of Valencia. Once the study contract has been made and after your academic coordinator closes your contract in the computer application, you must access the self-enrolment according to the registration appointment communicated to you from the University of Valencia. It is expected that self-enrolment can be carried out from July 17, 2025.

This year, you will automatically enrol in courses ("international credits" are no longer un use). This means that when completing the enrolment form:

- If you are doing a full academic year stay, you do not have to select any course

- If you are doing a one-semester stay, you must select only the courses you are going to take during the semester you are at the UV.

Check the enrolment instructions for mobility students

Mobility students must pay academic fees at the University of Valencia. You will be exempt from academic fees at the destination university. Some administrative fees can apply.

Visas. If you are travelling to the UK or Turkey, you will need a visa. Please review the information in the "Other..." section. If you are a national of a non-EU country, it is very likely that you will need a visa. Please contact the consulate of the destination country.

Healthcare insurance cover is mandatory and you must apply for your European Health Insurance Card. If you are going to a country where you are not covered by the European Health Insurance Card (Turkey), you will need to take out private insurance. For full course stays in the United Kingdom, you will be required to pay temporary registration in the British social security system as part of visa processing.

Supplementary insurance. The University of Valencia has taken out a policy to cover some contingencies that are not covered by the European Health Insurance Card, including civil liability, accidents and repatriation. The insurance company will send an individual certificate to each student starting in August. Consult the general conditions of the policy, the model of individual certificate and the protocol to communicate with the CASER insurance company. To find out more, contact erasmusuv@seguronline.com

2. On arriving at your chosen university

Certificate of Incorporation. You must report to the International Office of the host university and apply for the Certificate of Incorporation. We accept forms from partner universities. To send it to the International Relations Service, you must enter ENTREU, open "My procedures" and upload it in electronic format (preferably in PDF) within the "Erasmus Studies File" procedure. Save the original as proof. The processing of the first payment of the scholarships will be done in order of receipt of this document.

Modification of the learning agreement. Modifications are only necessary if the courses initially foreseen in the learning agreement are changed. This procedure must be completed via Portal Serveis Estudiant in order for the modifications to be reflected in your academic record. Such requests must be submitted once you are at the host university and no later than five weeks after the beginning of classes. Once the modifications have been requested via Portal Serveis Estudiant, your mobility coordinator must close your learning agreement so that you can have a printed copy of the new agreement with a table of correspondence between courses. This document must be signed by you, your host mobility coordinator and your mobility coordinator at the UV (scanned signatures are accepted).

  • Any modifications made prior to 5 October result in the generation of a new initial learning agreement (or ‘before’), which replaces the previous ones and can be downloaded by clicking on ‘Print first’.
  • Modifications after 5 October result in the generation of a modified learning agreement (or ‘during’). Once it has been closed, it can be downloaded by clicking on ‘Print modified’.
  • Subsequent modifications result in the generation of a new learning agreement (or ‘during’), which incorporates all modifications and replaces the previous modified documents. Modification (‘during’) contracts must be signed by all three parties (student, UV mobility coordinator and host university coordinator) and uploaded without delay to the UV Online Office.

IMPORTANT REMARK: The first instalment of the grant cannot be paid if any of the aforementioned documents is missing.

Application for extension of study stay. The extension consists of converting a first semester stay into a full course stay. This has academic effects but no economic ones. That is, you will not receive financial support for the period you extend (second semester). In addition to duly submitting the extension request form to erasmus.estudis@uv.es, the study contract must be modified in the terms provided above. In any case, this must be requested at least one month before the end of the initially planned study stay.

Request for reduction of study stay. Only requests for reductions received before 31 December will be accepted. In addition to submitting the reduction request form to erasmus.estudis@uv.es, you must modify the study contract on the Student Services Portal. The reduction involves converting a full course stay into a first or second semester study stay.

3On your return to Valencia.

Certificate of stay  This is the last document you will receive at your chosen university. This contains the start and end dates of your stay and is necessary forthe last payment of the scholarship. You must submit it yourself to the International Relations Service through the ENTREU application and enter "My procedures", file "Erasmus Studies File". It is important to take into consideration the warnings concerning dates and the prohibitions of corrections that appear at the foot and on the back of the document.

Final Student Report (EU Questionnaire) This is an evaluation questionnaire for your Erasmus stay. The report will be made online through the computer application enabled by the EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency), responsible for the Erasmus programme. You will not receive the invitation until your stay is over and you have submitted your certificate of arrival. Once you have received the invitation sent directly by the online control system of the Erasmus Programme (Beneficiary Module) to your institutional email, you will have to make the report within the indicated period.

Certificate of grades (Transcript of Records: ToR): This must be given to your degree academic coordinator. Should the university send you the grade certificate (instead of sending it directly to your faculty), you must send it to your coordinator. You can find the list of coordinators at this link http://ir.uv.es/j3n0eh1

Important: We will not be able to make the second payment of the scholarship if part of this documentation is missing. In addition, you must pass at least 50% of the international credits on which you have enrolled at the University of Valencia. If you do not exceed 50%, you will have to repay the amount received as a scholarship.

4.  Other documents and recommendations

 1. Before you go

Accept the Erasmus Studies scholarship (from 1 to 30 April 2026). You must log in to the University of Valencia's Online Portal under "Students - Mobility - Erasmus Studies Scholarship" and complete a very simple online form. You will only need to include the 24-digit IBAN of a bank account you are a holder of and the personal details of your emergency contact. Upon completion of the acceptance, you will receive a PDF with proof of acceptance and another PDF with the official award of your Erasmus Studies place. You will also receive, where applicable, a certificate for passing any of the B1 language exams taken in December at the Language Centre.

Submit the Erasmus Student Mobility Grant Agreement. The Grant Agreement will be available in late July or early September 2026. On that date, students will receive an informational message with their grant agreement to their official email address (@alumni.uv.es). Once received, the document must be signed and submitted via the University of Valencia's Electronic Portal - My Procedures. It is recommended to sign the document with a digital certificate. Once the document has been submitted, the International Relations Service will take care of obtaining the signature of the Vice-Rector, who is the other signatory party to the agreement.

Submit the initial Study Agreement: You will need to formalise your study agreement through these two IT platforms:

  1. Through Portalumne (for enrolment purposes)
    • Go to the "Mobility Programmes with Other Universities" tab – "Draw up and Modify Study Agreement". There you will need to prepare your study agreement and agree it with your academic mobility coordinator. You can find the list of coordinators at this link. The agreement includes:
      1. The courses you will take at the host university
      2. The courses that will be recognised towards your degree
      3. The correspondence between them

Once you have submitted your proposal, your coordinator must validate (close) it by 9 July. If it is not validated, you will not be able to enrol.

    • You do not need to print, sign or submit the documentation generated in the portal (see point 2 below for signatures on the contract). Exception: If the host university is not connected to the Erasmuswithoutpaper network, then the steps in point 2 above do not apply and a copy of the initial study agreement generated in Portalumne must be submitted via ENTREU. The signatures of the student, the coordinator from the University of Valencia and the coordinator from the host university are required (scanned signatures are accepted in this case).

Tutorial on the Learning Agreement in Portalumne

  1. Through Erasmuswithoutpaper (EWP) (for signature purposes)
    • You will also need to complete the Study Agreement (OLA) via the EWP-UV application. The signing process has the following steps:
      1. The student creates the contract and signs it (signed manually on the screen).
      2. The coordinator of the University of Valencia signs it.
      3. The coordinator of the host university signs it.

If the contract is rejected by the coordinator of the University of Valencia, it returns to step 1. The student will make changes and sign it again. The same applies if it is rejected by the host coordinator.

The student is the only person who can create the contract. Two or more study agreements should never be created. You must always work with a single agreement. Once the agreement has been signed by the student and both coordinators, the process is complete. There is no need to download it as a PDF or upload it to ENTREU, as everything is digitally recorded in the application.

In order to know whether the host university uses the EWP platform, you can check the EWP Stats Portal. Here's a short tutorial on how to find if your host university is accepting learning agreements through EWP.

Tutorial on the Erasmus without Paper (EWP) Study Agreement

Self-enrolment. Before you go, you must complete your self-enrolment at the University of Valencia. Once the study agreement has been completed and after your academic coordinator has finalised your agreement in the Portalumne IT application, you will need to access the online enrolment in accordance with the enrolment appointment provided by the University of Valencia. The self-enrolment process is scheduled to be available from 20 July 2026.

The courses will be pre-loaded automatically in accordance with the study contract processed in Portalumne. The self-enrolment will only be completed if the mobility courses enrolled match the most recent closed contract.

If a semester-long stay is undertaken, students can also select the courses to be taken at the University of Valencia.

Incoming students will have to pay the tuition fees to the University of Valencia in accordance with the number of ECTS included in their study agreement. They will be exempt from paying these fees at the host university. It is also possible to apply for the general MEC scholarship to study, as it is compatible with the Erasmus grant.

You can enrol in the Online Language Support (OLS) Test and Language Course:

Participation in the OLS is voluntary. It is recommended to take it before starting your stay in the host country, and it can be repeated at any time.

STEP 1: Create an account (profile, username) "EU Login" (also known as an ECAS account) on an application of the European Union

STEP 2: Register on the EU ACADEMY application

STEP 3: Access the OLS in the 'Core restricted area'

Visa. If you are travelling to European Union countries, you only need your ID card. If you are travelling to countries outside the European Union, contact the consulate of your destination country. For example, you will need a visa for the United Kingdom or Turkey.

Health and insurance. It is mandatory to have health insurance. Get the European Health Insurance Card. If you are going to a country where you are not covered by this card (such as Turkey), you will need to take out private health insurance. There are specialist companies such as https://www.oncampus.es, https://www.guardme.eu or https://universitasmundi.com/

The University of Valencia provides each student with a policy to cover certain eventualities not covered by the European Health Insurance Card: serious illness, public liability, accidents and repatriation. The insurance company will email each student an individual certificate at the end of July or the beginning of August.

 2. On your arrival at the host university

Certificate of Enrolment. Go to the International Office of your host university and request the signing of the Certificate of Enrolment (we also accept templates from partner universities). This must be submitted to the International Relations Service, attached to your Erasmus Study Grant file in ENTREU. Keep the original as proof. The first payment of the scholarship will be processed in the order this document is received.

Amendment of the study agreement. You only need to complete this procedure if you change the courses specified in the initial agreement. These must be processed once you are at the host university and before 5 weeks have passed since the start of classes. You must complete the amendments through two platforms:

  1. Through the Student Services Portal (for enrolment purposes)
    • You must agree the modifications with your academic mobility coordinator so that they are reflected on your enrolment.
    • Once the modifications have been requested and processed, the academic coordinator will close the contract and the modified courses will be displayed.
    • The enrolment will be regularised with the modified contract upon the student's return to the UV.
    • You do not need to print, sign or submit the documentation generated by the modification in the student portal (see point 2 below for signatures). Exception: If your host university is not connected to the Erasmuswithoutpaper network, you will not need to follow the steps in point 2 above, but you will need to submit a copy of the contract amendment via ENTREU. The signatures of the student, the coordinator from the University of Valencia and the coordinator from the host university are required (scanned signatures are accepted in this case).
  2. Through Erasmuswithoutpaper (EWP) (for signature purposes)
    • You will also have to modify the Study Agreement (OLA) through the EWP-UV application.
    • The amendment will be valid when it is signed by the student and the coordinators of the home and host universities. The signing process is the same as for the initial contract.

Application for an extension of stay. The extension involves converting a first-semester stay into a full-year stay. The period you are extending (the second semester) will not be eligible for financial aid if the application is submitted after 31 July 2026. In addition to submitting the duly completed extension application form to Tiqueting, the study contract must be amended in the previously stipulated terms. In any case, the request must be made at least one month before the end of the initially planned stay.

Application for a shortened stay. Only applications for a shortened stay received before 31 December 2026 will be accepted. In addition to submitting the application form for a shortened stay via Tiqueting, you must amend your study contract. The reduction involves converting a full-year stay into a semester-long stay.

Semester change. If this is a change from the first to the second semester, the request must be submitted by 15 July 2026. If it is a change from the second to the first semester, it must be requested before the destination universities close their first nomination period. The Tiqueting semester change request must be submitted.

3. Upon your return to Valencia

Certificate of Stay. This is the final document you will receive from the host university. It contains the start and end dates of your stay and is required to make the final payment of your scholarship. It must be submitted to the International Relations Service, attached to your Erasmus Study Grant file. It is important to take into account the instructions regarding dates and the prohibitions on corrections at the bottom and on the reverse of the document.

Student Final Report (EU Questionnaire). This is an evaluation questionnaire for your Erasmus Studies placement. The report is completed online via the IT application provided by the EACEA (Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency), the body responsible for the Erasmus programme. You will not receive the invitation until you have completed your placement and submitted the certificate of arrival. Once you have received the invitation, sent directly to your institutional email address by the Erasmus Programme's online monitoring system (Beneficiary Module), you will need to complete the report within the specified timeframe.

Transcript of Records (ToR): This must be sent to the academic coordinator for your degree programme. If the host university sends the transcript of records to you (instead of sending it directly to your faculty), you must forward it to your coordinator. You can find the list of coordinators at this link.

Important: We will not be able to process the second instalment of the scholarship without the aforementioned documentation. Furthermore, you must pass at least 50% of the international credits for which you have enrolled at the University of Valencia. Otherwise, you will be required to repay the scholarship amount you have received.

4. Other documents and recommendations

Withdrawal form. If you need to withdraw from the scholarship, send this document via Tiqueting.

Current account change form. If you need to change your current account number, fill in this form and send it via Tiqueting along with a copy of your bank passbook or a similar document showing all 24 digits, from your university email address.

Authorisation. Leave a signed authorisation with someone you trust. They will be able to carry out procedures with the University when you are away.

Register with the nearest Spanish Embassy or Consulate. Visit the website of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Select 'consular registration' and 'registration for residents and non-residents'. Apply for "non-resident" registration. Towards the bottom of the page, you will find an explanation of the specific procedure to be followed at your chosen embassy or consulate.

Here you can see travel advice from the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

If you are travelling to Turkey, you will need to apply for a visa at the Turkish embassy or consulate.

If you are a student at the University of Valencia with an approved Erasmus Studies placement and you are also a national of a country outside the European Union, you will need a visa. Check with the embassy of your home country and the embassy of the country you are travelling to. In any case, you should be aware that Directive (EU) 2016/801 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 11 May 2016 obliges the host country to facilitate the procedures for you.

Erasmus Student Charter. Find out about your rights and obligations as a participant in the Erasmus programme.

5. United Kingdom. Specific information

If you are travelling to the United Kingdom, you will need to apply for a visa. Here you will find information about which visa you need. You must pay close attention to the information sent to you by your host university. Visas for the United Kingdom are processed through the Visa Application Centre in Madrid or Barcelona.

  1. Full-time courses: you need a Student Visa and will have to pay a fee.
  2. Semester-long stays: it is not compulsory to obtain a visa, but you must be able to prove that you meet the requirements for an Standard Visitor Visa. In addition, you will also need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).

SEPIE (Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education) has a very comprehensive website which you should visit if you are going on an Erasmus placement to the United Kingdom.
