Synthesis of heterocyclic nitrogen compounds and subsequent study of their chemical reactivity. Study the ability of the prepared compounds to coordinate with different cationic and/or anionic species and study the possible applications of these interactions. Based on this knowledge, the possible pharmacological activity of the prepared compounds will be studied.
- Development of new synthetic methodologies for the preparation of nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds.
- Study of the reactivity of the prepared compounds: Acid-base properties, reactivity towards nucleophiles and electrophiles. Functionalization reactions.
- Interaction studies of the prepared heterocycles with cationic and/or anionic species as well as with biomolecules. Applications as sensors.
- Study of the possible pharmacological activity of the prepared compounds.
