Description of research activity:

Study of the mechanisms that guide the macroeconomic behaviour of economies in the medium and long term. Ex-ante and ex-post evaluation of the effects of macroeconomic policies through theoretical and empirical analyses.

Research lines:
  • Monetary policy, inflation and financial stability.The monetary and fiscal transmission mechanism in traditional models has been questioned for its lack of attention to the wide variety of agents operating in an economy. In this line of research, we develop macroeconomic models with a granular approach.
  • Fiscal policy: Debt sustainability and economic activity.Study of the conditions under which fiscal policy will be developed in the European Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). Design of a fiscal union and impact assessment of the EU Recovery Plan (NGEU) and other structural reforms.
  • Recovery, growth and welfare in Europe after the two great recessions.Effects of technological changes and environmental transition on well-being.
